LAW team and field of expertise:
LAW is an EVS accredited centre and a training provider in Personal development with experience working with under graduates, graduates, managers, people being made redundant and the unemployed. LAW works both at local and international level, developing new projects and collaborations under Erasmus + Programme, European Social Fund and other European funding.
LAW team is formed by four permanent staff and 15 tutors. Being a small team, will provide you with confidence in asking questions and propose your own projects, when possible, and, of course, integrate easily.
We are all very friendly and with a very international approach, looking forward in welcoming dynamic young people ready to share with us new ideas.
Volunteer’s role in the organisation: General support to the team and carry out research in new
project, and identify potential partners. Language Academy Wales (LAW): Non-profit making organisation. The EVS volunteer will help us to start the activity in a new created non-profit organisation and search for funding. The organisation aims to help young people with fewer opportunities to benefit of equal learning chances and personal development.
Administrative: Assist in the preparation of the training material and other administrative tasks, website administration, marketing and liaise with European countries wishing to co-operate with us. To research and promote new EVS project ideas and to assist in submitting KA1 and KA2 bids with our National Agency.
Marketing and Social Media: Promoting LAW activities through our website, Facebook and Twitter accounts, participate in potential meetings with our office manager and/or director. Erasmus + Project: The intern will help in the preparation of a training document on an approved project, called E2MP and COPE as well as assisting in completing in the application for new projects that we will submit for funding.
INSTEP GROUP Project: Assist the team in the organisation of seeking work placement, arranging host families for the Group of young people from a Vocational college in France. The volunteer will support the team with the preparation of a ‘welcome pack’, contact the host families and the local partners who will offer them work placement for a week.
Small Workplace Health Gold Award: We are currently holding the Bronze and Silver Award for promoting a healthy lifestyle within its organisation. The volunteer will help us in applying for the last level, the Gold Award.
Other projects: Develop other projects, helping the team to write bids and tender for funding. LAW has started to raise funding for two charity organisations working with young disadvantaged people, so new ideas are welcomed.
Language Academy Wales – EVS approved centre
Language Training: We are in the process of discussing English language training for Chinese students with a company based in China. The students will come to Cardiff and stay for 10 months while learning English and getting to know/understand the British culture. The volunteer will help to coordinate the English training (Ensuring rooms are prepared, materials are ready, creating materials if necessary), if they feel confident enough they can help the students learn English and to give assistance to the tutor.

As we are a training provider, you will have the chance to attend our trainings, at no cost. At the end of your volunteering, you would have benefited not only of a work placement and professional experience, working on multi-projects, but also develop your personal skills. Candidate will
have the opportunity to attend professional marketing events and workshops.
