We are looking for Moldovan Participans that are interested in a training course in Turku, Finland.

About the project
The project aims to introduce board games as a tool for involving young people into youth organizations and initiate a dialogue with them through training youth workers to develop table-top games with educational value. The training is designed to equip participants with knowledge and skills of need assessment and learning design tools as well as to empower participants to take out of the box approach in youth work through using board games in particular. Participants are foreseen to increase the capacity of own organizations, bring innovative approaches and make use of the gained learning in their daily life with young people as well as contribute with spreading the created materials in their work network.

The project sets next objectives:
– To discuss youth trends and behaviors in the countries that partner in the project and identify possible support measures that can be done by individual youth workers
– To introduce board games as a tool for involvement of young people and explore successful examples of the use of board games in youth work
– To equip participants with methods for idea development and learning design that is transferrible to any topics
– To equip participants with tools for developing board games with educational value based on relevant social issues or necessary competences for youth
– To develop a set of educational board games to be used in the youth work field
– To test created board games with the local youth of Turku through a public event
– To create an online printable board game resource for youth workers & youth leaders to be used internationally

Profile of the participants:
The training course’s target group consists of youth workers, youth leaders, youth trainers and educators, youth work/ educational science students that work with young people in their daily work life or frequent voluntary activities, especially with hard to reach young people and those representing minority groups. Participants should have specific interest to discover innovative approach in youth work, be ready to experiment and commit to working on creating a board game and it’s later development and dissemination. Participants should have at least good command of verbal & written English and be available for the whole project time (preparation, main activity, material development, dissemination, evaluation). Knowledge of non-formal learning and youth related topics will be beneficial for a productive process and enhanced experience sharing.

The organizers are going to take care of travelling arrangements from Turku to the TC venue, just REMEMBER to inform us about your arraival and departure time to Turku! You are kindly asked to arrive in Turku on 08th of October, 2019 before 11:00 o’clock. The meeting point is in the heart of the center of Turku (address: Hämeenkatu 15, 20500 Turku). Arrival Date: 8 th of October, 2019 / need to be on the place before 11.00/ Departure Date: 14 th of October 2019 /departure after the breakfast. The Venue is in Merimasku, Finland (28 km far from Turku).

Acommodation:
You will be accommodated in a camping area, which is 28 kilometres from the city centre. You will be living in shared rooms with three other participants of same sex. Each rooms has a separate bathroom Bed linen will be provided but bring your own towel. Please, note that there are no shops close to the training venue.

Special needs:
In the application form you will find the gaps for the special needs (like vegetarian,
vegan…etc.), please carefully fill them out. Please also take into consideration that internet access is limited in the camping area.

Reimbursement:
Reimbursement of your travel costs [within the country budget allocated by ERASMUS+

Participation fee:
Participation fee will be 20 EURO. Participation fees will be taken out from the reimbursement costs.

Insurance:
We strongly advise you to take out a full travel insurance policy for the duration of your stay in finland please note insurance costs of any kind will not be covered by the organizers.
The organization will not be able to reimburse you for any losses. Please also note that private medical care in the Finland is expensive.

Language:
The training course will be in English language.
