On the 10th of April young and enthusiastic people arrived to Vadul lui Voda from Armenia, Russia, Ukraine, Spain, Portugal, Romania, Estonia and from Moldova to participate on the second edition of Youth Exchange „YOUth, MEdia, trUSt”. Some of them already knew each other from the first part in September, 2018. The athmosphere was so friendly from the beginning. I came here to support the Moldovan team and help around to prepare and accomplish the activities for the whole week. To be honest, at the first days I felt a little bit sad and lost, because I couldn’t speak on my mother language and I couldn’t represent my original country. But then I realized my presence and help are important as an ADVIT volunteer, and the following days all the participants were interested in me and my culture. We built our own tiny society, our own giant family with our inclusive and curious behaviour.

Our schedule was very crowded full with interesting and important projects and presentations. The main topic was the media situation in each of the countries. We talked about Russian propaganda, Moldovan fake news, Belgian regional and language differences between newspapers, and other issues such as manipulation, misguidance, political influences, and how to avoid fake news. During the days we had many group tasks to solve in a creative way, I really enjoyed to work with different people from different countries! It was one of the main goal to mix people as much as possible, to give possibilities In the evening we introduced each others countries’ with food tasting and with some traditional games, theater performances, songs, tales, videos and fun-facts.

Time flies so fast if you feel good and spend your time with amazing people! The hardest part is to say goodbye after 8 days… lots of hugs, nice words, and the promice to see each other very soon! Fortunately we still have our common group on Facebook, so it’s easier to keep in touch. Our little community is till alive, and I hope, we can reunite one day.
